It was a night of celebration and perhaps some happy tears were also shed as Brevard Family Partnership Foundation hosted “A Night Among the Stars on the Space Coast” gala last month.
The black-tie event honored foster families and community partnerships with a special event that was open to the public.
Brevard Family Partnership is a child protection agency charged by the state of Florida to handle all of the children who have been victims of abuse, neglect and abandonment.
“I hope one day people will see the foster care system and child welfare in a promising light,” said Phil Scarpelli, president and CEO of the Brevard Family Partnership Family of Agencies. “Nearly 30 years ago, foster care, it was kind of a grim picture.”
