Ropert recognized as PR Professional of the Year – Strodtman is Rising Star
MELBOURNE, Fla. – September 3, 2013 – Two members of Brevard Family Partnership’s communication team have been recognized by the Space Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association for their work and contributions to the profession and in the local community. The recognition took place at the chapter’s annual meeting and awards banquet at Duran Golf Club in Viera, Florida.
Geo A. Ropert, APR, BFP’s director of communications received the chapter’s highest honor, Public Relations Professional of the Year for his cumulative work in the field of public relations and his recent role in raising awareness of and participation in the programs and services available through Brevard Family Partnership, the agency’s abuse prevention and family preservation organization, Brevard C.A.R.E.S. and the many community partners that have helped to reduce incidences of child abuse, neglect and abandonment. Ropert joined BFP in 2009, following a year-long contract during which time he led the agency through a major brand transformation.
Ropert, who also owns Ropert Communications Group and has practiced in the field of public relations and marketing communications for most of his career, has held several leadership and executive positions in local businesses and organizations. He has served on local business and nonprofit boards, advisory groups and coalitions, and is currently engaged with Eckerd and Brevard Workforce, working to improve the lives of residents and grow and diversify the local economy. Ropert received his national Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) in 2007.
Also honored was BFP’s public relations coordinator and its National Center for Innovation and Excellence manager, Stephanie Strodtman who received the chapter’s Rising Star award, presented to a member who has made significant contributions to the chapter in a short amount of time. Strodtman serves on the chapter’s board of directors as Secretary and has been instrumental in the success of recent chapter events.
