MELBOURNE, FL – September 4, 2012 – Wanting to know where the candidates stand on issues and legislation that affects the welfare of abused and neglected children and their families, three of Brevard’s leading child-serving organizations will host a Candidate Forum on Friday, September 14, from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. at the Brevard Zoo.  Candidates for the U.S. House and Senate, Florida Legislature, Brevard County’s Sheriff, and State Attorney have been invited to attend.

Brevard Family Partnership, Brevard’s lead child welfare agency, along with partners Children’s Home Society Florida – Brevard Division and Devereux are hosting the event. The goal is give those who serve or have an interest in the welfare and safety of children to hear directly from the candidates their platforms and how they are aligned with supporting the successful, locally operated, Community Based Care model and the mission of the organizations’ roles of protecting children and strengthening families.
