Back-to-school Giveaway Days

The new school year is just around the corner, and we want the kids we serve to be prepared and confident, so we’re holding four back-to-school giveaway days. Foster caregivers are invited to select brand new backpacks, lunch boxes, water bottles and a variety of school supplies so their kids are ready for their first day back in the classroom. The locations and times are below.

Brevard Back-to-school Bash: Aug. 3, 9 a.m.–12 p.m., Suntree United Methodist Church, 7400 N. Wickham Rd., Melbourne, FL 32904. At this event, kids can also get their hair cut, and parents can get resources from a variety of vendors. RSVP

Orange and Seminole Back-to-school Giveaway Days: Aug. 1, 9 a.m.–6 p.m., and Aug. 2, 9 a.m.–5 p.m., at the East Orange County Service Center, 4001 Pelee Street, Orlando, FL 32817. RSVP

Osceola Back-to-school Giveaway Day: July 31, 9 a.m.–6 p.m., at the Osceola County Service Center, 3600 Commerce Boulevard, Building B, Suite 101, Kissimmee, FL  34741. RSVP

The deadline for caregivers to RSVP is July 22. More information is available by emailing community.relations@FPOCF.org.

Back-to-school Drive

Each year, Family Partnerships of Central Florida (formerly Brevard Family Partnership) collects back-to-school supplies to help caregivers prepare the children they’ve welcomed into their hearts and homes for their return to the classroom.

From now until July 22, we are accepting donations of school supplies for children and youth in Brevard, Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties to help offset some of the financial stresses caregiver families experience as their kids head back to school.

There are several ways to help:

  • Click here or use the QR code to shop our back-to-school Amazon wish list. (Please use the gift message area to provide your name, address and email so that we can acknowledge your tax-exempt gift.)
  • Click here to donate to our back-to-school campaign.
  • Or, if you prefer to shop locally, you can drop off donations of new, unused items Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at either of our main administrative offices:
    • Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties: 901 North Lake Destiny Road, Suite 400, Maitland, FL 32751 (321-441-2060).
    • Brevard County: 389 Commerce Parkway, Suite 120, Rockledge, FL 32955 (321-752-4650).

Foster Parent Informational Session

Foster families are some of the most extraordinary people in our community—your friends and neighbors who open their hearts and homes to the many children every year who suffer abuse or neglect. Join them and give a child a safe play to stay. Take an active role in their life and contribute to their health and well-being each day with guidance and support.

Are you interested in learning more? Join us for an informational session and get answers to all of your questions from professionals in the field like foster parents, adoptive parents, licensing, and adoption experts.

For the health and safety of our community, all Foster Parent Information Sessions have been moved to a virtual platform through Facebook Live. If you are thinking of becoming a foster parent, join us to get all your questions answered!
