MELBOURNE, FL – May 3, 2017

Brevard Family Partnership (BFP) was presented with an award of outstanding volunteer service by the Brevard County Housing & Human Services Department. Valerie Holmes, Sr. Executive of Programs for BFP, serves as the Chairperson of the Together in Partnership Advisory Board, a committee developed by the Brevard County Board of County Commissioners. Holmes has served as the Chair for the last three years and previously served as the Chair of the TIP Strengthening Families Subcommittee for the last five years.

Together in Partnership is dedicated to decreasing such risk factors as substance abuse, delinquency, teen pregnancy, school dropout rates, and violence through the implementation of their Strategic Plan through a community led approach to advocating for increased provision of services for children and families, access to quality childcare, and access to the services of a social worker.

Together in Partnership (TIP) is an alliance of community agencies in Brevard County that work together to prevent delinquency and enhance the health and well-being of children in our community. The mission is to build partnerships and develop a plan to improve delivery of service to youth and their families.  The participants in TIP represent the racial, cultural and socioeconomic diversity of the county and are dedicated to decreasing risk factors such as substance abuse, delinquency, teen pregnancy, school dropout rates, and violence.

The goal of TIP aligns with Brevard Family Partnership’s mission of protecting children, strengthening families and changing lives through the prevention of child abuse and the operation and management of a comprehensive, integrated, community-based system of care for abused, abandoned and neglected children and their families. BFP and its community partners provide child abuse prevention, foster care and support, adoption, independent living and community outreach services to the children and families of Brevard County.
