Three of Brevard’s leading child-serving organizations hosted a Candidate Forum on Friday, September 14, from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. at the Brevard Zoo.  Candidates for the U.S. House and Senate, Florida Legislature, Brevard County’s Sheriff, and State Attorney attended and shared their perspectives on child welfare in Brevard.

Brevard Family Partnership, Brevard’s lead child welfare agency, along with partners Children’s Home Society Florida – Brevard Division and Devereux hosted the event. Breakfast was sponsored by Craig Technologies. Greg Pallone from News Channel 13 moderated the event. The goal was to give those who serve or have an interest in the welfare and safety of children to hear directly from the candidates their platforms and how they are aligned with supporting the successful, locally operated, Community Based Care model and the mission of the organizations’ roles of protecting children and strengthening families.

There were approximately 100 people in attendance. Photos from this event are available on Brevard Family Partnership’s Facebook page here.
