Introducing...
A Brighter Future for Independent Living Youth!
Over 50% of foster children who age out of care do so without earning a high school diploma...
...This is a statistic that concerns all of us in the field of child welfare. Brevard Family Partnership announces the launch of an exciting program that can help you achieve the goal of ensuring that children exiting your foster care system without their high school diplomas can get their GED.
A Cornerstone for Success!
A solid education is the cornerstone for success and with a GED former foster children can begin to move towards independence with the education they need to attend college, a university or vocational school or enter the workforce.
That’s why we’ve teamed up with Education Solutions International, a leader in education advances to develop an intense, fast-paced program that prepares young adults to take (and pass) the GED exam.
This proven program has an 85% success rate with National Guard recruits -over a 20 year period- and a 67% successes rate the first time it was implemented with young adults who have exited foster care. The program also prepares participants in an expedited manner, avoiding the lingering of students in programs for months and sometimes years.
GED FastTrack provides participants with all of the training and tools they’ll need, including:
• Education, supervision and support, provided by trained instructors;
• Steck-Vaughn GED Preparation book;
• Administrative and student manuals;
• Test taking tips for each subject;
• Practice tests;
• GED FastTrack Prescription that identifies each student’s unique strengths and challenges; and
• Targeted goals sheet.
