Family of Agencies

Brevard C.A.R.E.S., Family Allies, and The National Center for Innovation and Excellence (NCFIE) make up the Brevard Family Partnership Family of Agencies. Being a Family of Agencies allows us to all be more productive and intentional within our specialties while continuing to work towards our mission of “protecting children, strengthening families, and changing lives.”

Each piece of the agency is vital to the operation as a whole. Understanding how all of the agencies function together allows us to unitize each other’s strengths, thus making a more significant impact on the community around us.

Brevard Family Partnership (BFP) was established in 2003 as a non-profit organization in response to the Legislative mandate to privatize foster care and related services (Section 409.986, Florida Statutes). The agency was subsequently awarded the contract through the Florida Department of Children and Families to manage Brevard County’s child welfare system.

BFP provides foster care and support, adoption, independent living, and community outreach services to the children and families of Brevard County. Brevard Family Partnership has consistently ranked among the top-performing Community-Based Care Agencies in the state of Florida, ranking among the top three agencies over the past five years in visits to children and families, timely reunification, and exceeding the federal measures for placement stability.

Brevard C.A.R.E.S. became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Brevard Family Partnership in December 2009. Brevard C.A.R.E.S.’s mission is to reduce the number of children entering the foster care system through abuse prevention. Brevard C.A.R.E.S. offers programs that are Family-Centered, Strength-Based, and Community Driven. As Brevard C.A.R.E.S has expanded, we have seen fewer children entering the foster care system and more families staying together and becoming stronger. Over 150 (88.3%) children have been successfully diverted from entering licensed out-of-home care within the last fiscal year.

Family Allies serves as our agency dedicated to the children in out-of-home care and was founded in 2017 to bring case management under local control. Bringing Family Allies under the umbrella of the Brevard Family Partnership allows the agency as a whole to better serve and provide a higher quality of service.

In 2014, Brevard Family Partnership launched The National Center for Innovation and Excellence to serve as the research, training, and technical assistance arm of BFP. By advancing best and evidence-based practices, system reform initiatives, and high fidelity wraparound, the NCFIE cadre of resources, services, training, and consultation exists to promote the establishment and sustainability of family-driven Systems of Care in the United States and Canada.
